Junior Year Abroad: Rosie Spracklin

Clearly I am not abroad. But my best friend, Rosie Spracklin, has spent this past semester in Prague, Czech Republic. And so I’ve been living vicariously through her.  Her program is called Collegium Hieronymi Pragensis. More information on the program can be found here.

Rosie says (via a Facebook message I received 5 seconds ago), “I am having a great time. I’ve been able to really get to know the city and travel a bunch in central and eastern Europe to places i wouldn’t have thought to visit before. Also beer is cheaper than water and the Czech diet is basically bread, sausage, and potato. Dream come truee.” Rosie has generously allowed me to share some of her photos from abroad on the hannah chronicles. It’s been torturous to be away from her for nearly 6 months but I’m looking forward to her return in January.

From the little we’ve talked on iChat and Skype, she seems to be traveling to meet with fellow Mawrters abroad. And although I was a little disheartened to read her Facebook status, Literally jumped on a moving train to Serbia, still not entirely convinced this car is going to Belgrade…I’m certain she will come back to Bryn Mawr with the most exhilarating stories.

Below are pictures of Ms. Spracklin’s adventures.

Rosie in Trieste, northeastern Italy.

Rosie in Amsterdam, Holland.

Rosie in Primorsko-Goranska, Croatia.

And finally, Rosie in Cesky Krumlov.

I honestly cannot wait for her to return. Sadly, some of my other friends are leaving next semester. One is going to Ireland and another to Greece, so be sure to look for more posts about Mawrters abroad.
